Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökay Özerim has joined the Council of Europe’s Meeting of the European Steering Committee for Youth in Budapest, Hungary, on 10-11 October 2022 with the observer status.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökay Özerim, the Faculty member at Yasar University Department of International Relations and Director of the Centre of Excellence, joined the Council of Europe’s Meeting of the European Steering Committee for Youth in Budapest, on Hungary 10-11 October 2022 with the observer status.

Dr. Özerim represented  the European Pool of European Youth Researchers, which is coordinated by the Council of Europe and the European Commission. In addition to the upcoming Recommendation documents and future strategies of the Council of Europe on youth ; the post-Covid situation of young people, green perspective and young people’s right to a healthy environment, gender and youth participation issues were discussed in the meeting with the representatives of the member states and civil society organizations.

As a follow-up of this event, Dr. Özerim also participated in the international conference of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Agency in Ankara entitled “Youth@Work: Connecting Policy, Research, and Practice” on 17 October 2022 and presented his field research results regarding youth workers in Europe working with migrants and refugees.
