Nato Güvenlik Çalıştayı

During the NATO Workshop organized by the Department of International Relations, Yaşar University, many important international issues were addressed.

The workshop entitled as “The New Strategic Concept of NATO and the Debate on Turkey’s Security” was organized as part of the 10th anniversary activities of Yaşar University, on the 21th of May, in the meeting room of the Çeşme Altınyunus Hotel.

 The Opening was initiated by Ümit Pamir

The opening speech was made by retired Turkish ambassador and the member the NATO group of experts, Ümit Pamir. The focus of the meeting was on the discussion of NATO’s “Strategic Concept” which was recently adopted by the organization. The context and the application processes related to this NATO document which was renewed after quite a long time and which also has direct links on Turkey’s national security was also discussed in the meeting

The Lack of Information in Turkey

The departmental members of International Relations, Yaşar University stated that the main purpose of this meeting which provided the attendance of many scholars and decision-makers was to find a remedy on the lack of information in our country on the renewal and the adoption of NATO’s Strategic Concept.
