Seminar – “A Comparative Study on Military Interventions in Turkey and Israel”

As part of Yaşar University Department of International Relations seminar series, Zeynep Civcik who is currently a visiting scholar with the Middle East Technical University and teaching at the Middle East Studies Program gave a seminar entitled “A Comparative Study on Military Interventions in Turkey and Israel” on the 25th of December, 2015. Civcik discussed why military intervenes in politics. Through a comparative perspective on civil-military relations in Turkey and Israel, she focused on those underlying reasons such as historical and political factors, leaders’ strength and ideologies.
